Summit Headwall 95 cm Ski Blades

These are high performance twin tip skiblades perfect for fast turns and stops. Full tip-to-tail wood core provides stability at speed and long lasting skiblades. The Summit Headwall 95cm features an extra aluminum reinforcement plate for maximum retention of the Atomic Evox Step-in release bindings. Made for all mountain riding, the wide body shape is great for groomed runs as well as anywhere else, including crud, ice/hardpack or powder. Summit ski blades are designed with one goal in mind – to take the sport of skiblading to a new level of performance. Be prepared to push the limits of what you thought was possible on ski blades. Nothing of this size compares at all to the new Headwall 95.

Handcrafted, one pair at a time, with extreme attention to detail, this season’s Summit Headwall 95cm is constructed with a vertically laminated tip-to-tail wood core. The wood is Northern Hemisphere birch which is very light, yet super strong. Colder temperatures create wood that is denser, thus super strong, while being very light in weight. This wood allows for a smooth flex throughout the board which is quite different from skiblades made with cheaper materials that tend to “pop” at unexpected moments.

The Summit Headwall 95 continues with the same quality construction Summit has been known for. These are designed with a cap construction, a parabolic sidecut which was constructed to function impeccably with the solid birch wood core to deliver almost effortless carves and will hold an edge no matter how hard you charge it. The high energy, lively wood core is sandwiched between two top layers and one bottom layer of triaxial fiberglass providing just the right combination of flex and torsional stiffness that offers an incredibly smooth ride. In addition, an extra layer of biaxial fiberglass and kevlar is added to maintain the smooth tip-to-tail flex allowing just the right carving feel as well as adding to durability. A layer of rubber dampening makes for additional smooth riding, absorbing those vibrations, but allowing maximum road feel.

More than any skiblades Summit offers, just think about turning and they will turn. Due to their parabolic shape and slightly narrower tail, these Headwall’s are truly great carving tools. These are a great way for beginners as well as seasoned riders to rip it up.  The consistent tip to tail flex brings a new level of carving to skiblades, whether in glove dragging lay it over carves or ripping the moguls. Designed for all mountain riding, these hand crafted ski blades are at home anywhere in the resorts including those breath taking steep chutes or flying through the glades.  Edges hold even on ice.

Summit Headwall 95cm skiblades feature black sintered bases – highly durable bases that allow for maximum wax absorption to ensure a smooth glide, while offering the ability to attain speeds that are truly impressive. In addition, black bases are easier to repair dings or gouges and bring them back to new looking condition. In contrast, printed bases are much more difficult to hide repairs.

These asymmetrical twin tips were designed for ease of riding whether forwards or backwards or just spinning down the mountain and making yourself dizzy! No mass produced skibladecan compare to the smooth ride of these, no matter what you choose to do on the slopes.

The Summit Headwall 95cm skiblades are made to perform whether charging the steeps, hucking cliffs, flying in the parks or just having a fun day on the slopes. Recommended for beginning to advanced riders and for intermediate riders who are ready to take a quantum leap in their ability level.

Summit Jade 87 cm Ski Blades

Summit introduces a wide body 87 cm length skiblade complete with 4 stainless steel inserts to mount traditional skiblade non-release bindings as well as snowboard bindings. These symmetrical twin tip ski blades are constructed specifically for high performance riding with stability at speeds that is especially insane given the length. This wide body shape is equally at home on the groomed runs as well as in the crud or floating in powder. These ski blades are the best 87 cm ever produced including others in the range (even up to 94cm). Summit now takes the sport of skiblading to a new level of performance, while being able to carve circles around anyone (literally). These definitely push the limits of what was possible on shorter length skiblades.

Skiblades by Summit Skiblades Jade 87 cm Like all Summits, these are handcrafted, one pair at a time, with extreme attention to detail. The construction includes a vertically laminated tip-to-tail wood core. The wood is Northern Hemisphere birch which is very light, yet super strong. Colder temperatures create wood that is denser, thus super strong, while being very light in weight. This is why we choose wood from the Northern Hemisphere. This wood allows for a smooth flex throughout the length of the skiboards which is quite different from skiblades made with cheaper materials that tend to “pop” at unexpected moments or even break.

The parabolic sidecut is constructed to function impeccably with the solid birch wood core to deliver almost effortless lay-it-over carves. These are made to hold an edge no matter how hard you charge it. The high energy, lively wood core is sandwiched between two top layers of triaxial fiberglass (an additional layer added this season), a layer of Kevlar (new this season also enhances strength) and a bottom layer of triaxial fiberglass providing just the right combination of flex and torsional stiffness that offers an incredibly smooth ride. In addition, an extra layer of biaxial fiberglass is added to maintain the smooth tip-to-tail flex allowing just the right carving feel. A layer of rubber dampening makes for additional smooth riding, absorbing those vibrations, but allowing maximum road feel.

These are the shortest skiblades Summit has ever produced. These truly carve fast like riding on a pair of skates. As with all Summit skiblades, the Jade features a consistent tip to tail flex that is so smooth, yet just right for stability at speed. Now you can truly rip the moguls, fly through the glades making faster turns than you can believe and still hold a solid edge when flying down the groomed runs.

Designed for true all mountain riding, the wide body platform even delivers great floatation in the deep stuff, offering awesome performance for something this size. You can lean hard on the back tails and they are going to support you, a true comfort to know during those deep powder days. Edges hold even on ice.

The Summit Jade 87 cm skiblades feature black sintered bases – highly durable bases that allow for maximum wax absorption to ensure a smooth glide, while offering the ability to attain speeds that are truly impressive. In addition, black bases are easier to repair dings or gouges and bring them back to new looking condition. In contrast, printed bases are much more difficult to hide repairs.

Summit Ski Blades Freedom 99 cm

Summit Freedom 99 cm Ski Blades

Summit Freedom 99 cm Ski Blades 2012/13

Summit introduces their all new 99 cm model for the 2012/13 season complete with integrated Tyrolia LR9 Bindings. As compared to the wider Nomad 99 cm skiblades, the Freedom is a narrower profile skiblade. This narrower design makes for easy and quick edge-to-edge carving, very similar to Salomon Snowblades years back. However, as compared to the snowblades, these skiblades are upgraded for higher performance including a full length tip-to-tail wood core and full wrap steel edges. The wood core makes for a high energy ride and increased durability. In addition, these are made with a sidewall construction (rather than cap construction) that offers greater torsional stability (eliminates wobbling), greater edge grip and a classy look.

Overall, these are very stable at speed as compared to foam core skiblades like the original snowblades. Though a narrower profile, the surface area is enough to maintain speed and floatation even in the deeper stuff. The ride and manueuverablity of these skiblades is truly amazing.

The Freedom Ski Blades also come complete with integrated Tyrolia LR9 ski release bindings mounted (not shown) and fat brakes (leashes not required). These bindings are durable, easy to step in and out of and of course, offer great safety features as all ski release bindings do. The bindings also allow for full flex of the skiblades and are adjustable to a full range of ski boot sizes (adjusted by hand).

Skiblade bases are extruded, super hard, fast and durable. These skiblades also feature tip protectors for extra edge protection. Top sheet is high gloss and UV protected.

If you ever rode the Salomon Snowblades then you’ll really like these skiblades – similar in dimension, yet with the added benefit of a full wood core that makes for a more energetic and smooth ride (and of course, release bindings premounted). Like Salomon snowblades, the Summit Freedom 99cm has a more narrow-type asymmetrical twin tip design that allows fast edge-to-edge carving.

Factory Mounted Release Bindings

The Freedom 99 comes with the Tyrolia LR9 step-in release bindings. These are easy to adjust with toe and heel sliding on a rail. Feature a DIN setting of 2.5 to 9. Fits ski boots size 5-14 US (263-391 mm boot sole length). Wide brakes are included at no extra charge. Color: Black.

Construction Details Summary:

  • Wood core: vertically laminated wood core runs the full length of the skiblades, tip to tail, providing a highly responsive energy as well as greater long term durability.
  • 360 full wrap Rockwell carbon steel edges: protects your skiblades from those unexpected dings while providing superior edge grip.
  • Narrow Body Shape: a narrower skiblade surface area makes for quick edge-to-edge carving. You can ride with your boots much closer together. Very fast turns.
  • Asymmetrical Twin-tips: makes it easier to ride forwards as well as backwards (fakie). Excellent handling in the parks and pipes. Also, makes for the most perfect carves.
  • Extruded bases: highly durable and fast. These p-tex bases have less friction and thus more speed as well as less vulnerability to abrasion and impacts. The Black bases are much easier to repair dings or gouges and bring them back to original looking condition. In contrast, printed bases are much more difficult to hide any repairs. process.
  • Duraclear top sheet: protects the silk screen graphics.
  • Base bevel: 90 degrees for ease of carving.

Specs:

  • Length: 99cm
  • Tip/Waist/Tail Width: 110/90/100 mm
